Typical Itinerary
Day 1:
Depart Hamilton Island for a 2 hour cruise to Cid Harbour located on the western side of Whitsunday Island. Enjoy time ashore and an afternoon walk from Sawmill Beach to Dugong Inlet.
Day 2:
Sail from Cid Harbour to Mantaray Bay on the northern end of Hook Island (approximately 3 hour sail). Spend the afternoon snorkelling as this bay has some of the best fringing reef the Whitsundays has to offer. Don your snorkel and fins and jump overboard to explore a wonderland of marine life and fringing coral reefs that boasts typically excellent visibility. You can even hand feed the batfish that rush to every approaching yacht!
In the afternoon sail to Stonehaven on the northwestern side of Hook Island for overnight anchorage. Stonehaven is an idyllic anchorage as it is very sheltered and calm and offers great snorkelling as well as being an excellent vantage point to watch the sun melt over mainland Australia and the Whitsunday passage and the elegant lights come on at the luxurious Hayman Island Resort.
Day 3:
Set sail from Stonehaven to Whitehaven Beach (approximately 4-5 hour sail). Spend the afternoon and evening at Whitehaven Bay. If weather permits you can walk to the Whitehaven lookout at the top of Hill Inlet.
Whitehaven Beach is renowned for its incredible five-kilometre stretch of silica white sand and turtles. Drop anchor at an idyllic spot and then you can choose to relax on board, or head straight to the beach for an afternoon of swimming in the crystal clear waters, exploring magnificent Whitsunday Island, embarking on a bush walk, beach games or just sun baking!
As the sun sets over Whitehaven Bay, your host/ess will serve drinks and canapés on board, before your dinner under the stars.
Day 4:
All good things must come to an end. Time for your last swim and depart from Whitehaven Beach and sail back to Hamilton Island. Disembark at 10am.
NOTE: All itineraries are subject to prevailing weather conditions. If conditions are perfect there is a chance of spending one night on the Outer Barrier Reef. |
