On "The Train" you will experience the ultimate thrill of a pedigree racing yacht. Australian Yachting Federation (AYF) instructors on board enables you to particpate in nationally accredited and internationally recognised sailing courses.
Freight Train was designed by German Frers and constructed from aluminum in Perth, Western Australia. The design specs produced a world beating yacht with an illustrious racing career.
Freight Train won and was placed in many races including the Kenwood Cup in Hawaii, the Burns Phillip Maxi Boat Series, the World Famous Sydney to Hobart and the Sir James Hardie Northern Islands race.
Most famous was its 1983 win in the Maxi Division of the Sydney to Hobart race.
Although officially retired from ocean racing, Freight Train is still a regular competitor in local races throughout the Whitsunday Islands.
With Spacious open plan living, Freight Train has all the comforts you would normally find on the more luxurious cruising type vessel. Freight Trains professional crew take pride in handling small intimate groups giving the highest standard or service possible.
Freight Train conducts 3 day/2 night Whitsunday sailing holidays taking 18 guests and 3 crew throughout the World Heritage Listed Whitsunday Islands. Experience fantastic snorkelling throughout the Whitsundays or take advantage of the FREE DIVE available to all guests. You can sunbath on the world famous Whitehaven Beach or explore the aboriginal caves in Nara Inlet. Freight Train is a great combination of all the activities available in the Whitsunday Islands!
