And to mark the occasion, New Caledonia is giving Australian travel agents the chance to win a luxury escape of their own. The Luxury Long Weekends will be promoted with a comprehensive marketing campaign running from late July until the end of the year. Packages will be advertised nationally on Australian television, radio, in magazines and weekend newspapers, with an emphasis on audiences in Sydney. “The basis of all advertising will be a series of indulgent packages with all wholesalers participating” Mr. Moisan said. “They include flights and upmarket accommodation, plus a series of added indulgences like horse-drawn carriages, romantic dinners and sailing trips to secluded islands.” (Source: New Caledonia Newsletter September 2005)
