Twenty-one beachfront bures at the exclusive Peppers Palm Bay resort on Long Island in the booming Whitsundays are to be offered for sale to investors.
This follows the successful sale last year of 15 elevated ocean-view land lots atop the tropical island resort by Palm Bay owners NDH Developments Pty Ltd. The blocks of land sold for between $280,000 and $499,000. Construction is due to begin on the first properties early in 2005.
Peppers Palm Bay is an intimate hideaway offering one of Australia’s most exclusive holiday experiences. Lying just off the Whitsunday Coast mainland, the resort is surrounded by national park and pristine bushland dotted with nature trails.
“The proposed sale of the beachfront bures provides investors with a rare opportunity to witness the ultimate tropical island experience,” said Daryl Henwood of NDH Developments. “The resort operators, Peppers, have a reputation of the highest order and these exclusive accommodation units are only a few metres from the highwater mark.
“Purchasers will literally have water lapping at their doorsteps.”
Nestling among swaying palms by a private beach, the resort has studio-style, one-bedroom and two-bedroom accommodation. Each unit is free-standing, self-contained and fully-furnished. Units come with kitchenette facilities. To complete the tropical island experience, each veranda has a hammock from which to take in the ocean views.
Purchasers will have the option of placing the bures into a holiday letting arrangement managed by the Peppers chain. Investors who choose this option will have the private use of the units for six weeks, as opposed to the normal period of 28 days. Owners will have full access to the resort’s facilities, including restaurant/bar, convenience shop, spectacular swimming pool, tennis courts, mini-cinema and day spa.
Entry level prices for the resort accommodation are expected to be in the $250,000-$300,000 range.
“Those lucky enough to buy into Peppers Palm Bay will have the best of both worlds,” said Christie Leet of sales and marketing agents PRDnationwide Whitsunday. “This is one of the few places where you can leave the crowds behind and come to a place of peace and tranquillity, yet the bustling cosmopolitan township of Airlie Beach with all the services you’ll ever need is only a short ferry/car ride away.”
Access to the region has never been better. Owners can fly into Hamilton Island Airport and transfer by helicopter or launch to Palm Bay. Alternatively, they can fly into Proserpine and transfer by helicopter or seaplane direct to Palm Bay or by limousine to Shute Harbour and then by launch to Palm Bay. Purchasers can also fly into Mackay and transfer to Palm Bay by road and launch.
“Whichever route investors take, they won’t regret getting a stake in an island waterfront opportunity which is becoming rarer by the day,” said Mr Leet. “More importantly, the Whitsundays is still in a rising market and the prospects for capital growth look extremely good. Imagine how you’ll feel in ten years’ time if you missed out on this opportunity.”
Ahead of the official launch, PRDnationwide Whitsunday is accepting expressions of interest in the 21 beachfront bures.
