Whale and Dolphin Watching (New Caledonia)
From July to September, boat and helicopter trips depart from Nouméa and from the South of the Mainland to encounter humpback whales. These mammals congregate in the bays of the Southern lagoon and Lifou in the mating season. They can also be admired on diving excursions.

Airline Want Home Routes (Fiji)
International Carrier, Air Pacific hopes to start domestic flights by the end of the year. While the airline did not wish to reveal details on talks being held to buy out a local airline it is optimistic about its plans to start serving domestic routes.

Pacific Blue to Launch Direct Flights to Tonga
Virgin Blue’s international airline Pacific Blue will launch direct flights to Tonga from both Australia and New Zealand from 31 October 2005. The airline will initially offer two direct flights a week from Sydney to Tonga, as well as three direct flights between Auckland and Tonga.
