There are two options available: Embark in Nouméa onboard a motorboat or a quickcat or travel to Prony by car via Mont-Dore and the Rivière des Pirogues bridge (1hr30 by road). Prony is home to most of the charter boats, which are moored in Somme bay. The area is ideal for taking on board tourists. Two species of dolphins frequent New Caledonian waters year round, “the Sten Ella longirostris” and the “Tursiops truncates”. Trips are regularly organised departing from Boulouparis by Bouts d’Brousse. (Source: New Caledonia Newsletter September 2005)
